I'm having a blogger problem and can't seem to upload any pictures directly to blogger, so I've created Picasa albums for my posts and just combined everything I've been trying to post for a week...

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Lukas found a toad (not a frog according to Daddy) at Nanna's on Friday, May 9th. He held it, and it jumped out of his hands. So, he picked it up and it jumped out again. This happened MANY times. Poor toad. Finally Lukas stuck him in his mini-wagon and pulled him around a bit.

Happy Belated Mother's Day

Happy really late Mother's Day to all my mommy-peeps out there. I'd like to thank my Mom for helping Lukas pick out a swell gift for me - this lighted makeup mirror. If you haven't seen my bathroom, you need to know that this is the only mirror in it. Also, the only light besides the medium sized chandelier in the bathroom. Also, a big thanks to Grandma Susie for taking us out to eat at The Faded Rose on Sunday. It was so tasty (fried artichoke hearts... mmmmmmm) and we had a good time visiting with that side of the family. Much to the delight of the waitress and surrounding diners, we only had 2 of the 3 grandsons (all under 3) with us. We missed you Kolby!

Self Portrait

Here's my self portrait in the new lighted mirror. I like the light rings on the glasses.

Class Pictures

On picture day at school I knew that I didn't want Lukas' pictures made because he had just had them made in Texas. So I got him up, looked at a nicer shirt with a collar, but then grabbed the "Mr. Happy" tee shirt. What I wasn't thinking about was the "class picture". So, here it is, everyone looks nice except my kid. But at least he's not the one picking his nose!

New Gallery Opening

I've moved Lukas' art gallery to Picasa - here it is with some new stuff...

Warning!

While Lukas was playing in this bucket of water I noticed the warning
on the side of the bucket - it made me laugh. At one point he was in
the exact same pose as Danger Baby.

Clothing Optional

Now he says "take off my clothes",

Pay Attention

Lukas was playing with a cute kid-friendly water hose nozzle (Target)
and he was showing me what he could do. Although I thought I was
looking, he says "pay attention!".

Book Review

If You Were My Bunny

by Kate McMullan & illustrated by David McPhail

Welcome to my first "Book Review" - ha. Mostly, this is one book in Lukas' library that has a story of its' own. I was shopping with my Mom (aka Nanna) at Barnes & Noble and she would pick up a book and show it to me, then I would snub it and move on. I can't remember what book I was looking for, or if I was even looking for something specific. When she showed me this one I figured I'd snubbed enough books and I bought it. The first time I read it to Lukas I just read through it. Then I got to the end and it has a note to parents about what tune each little animal story is sung to. So, next time I would refer to the back and try to sing it, but it just didn't seem right. I think I did this a few more nights (referring to the back every time I changed animals) and finally it hit me... it's not all singing! For each animal, there is a little story that you read and then there is a song. So even though this was a book I wasn't really interested in and it took me a week to figure out how to read and sing it, it's now one of my favorites. Lukas loves to hear the bedtime songs of the baby bunny, bear, kitten, duck & puppy. He asks the same things every time, like "that kitten's thirsty?" and "that kitten drink milk?"). And he points out that you can see the duckies' feet under the water. I think is favorite line is when the Mama Dog is singing to the puppy "no more yapping, no more yips". He says "no more lips". Awe, speech impediments are so cute!
