Foxy Stays Over

Last night Nanna's dog, Foxy, spent the night with us. Today she's
made herself right at home in the chair that Kellie passed down to
Lukas.

Photo Albums

I've blogged about it before, but this is a reminder that all new photo albums can be accessed via the "Photo Albums" link on the right side of the page. It looks just like the picture above. And, you can click on the photo above and it will take you there too. Hoping to figure out YouTube or something and upload some mini-videos. Don't hold your breath.

Toy Hill 2007

What a difference two years makes, eh? This is Grandma Susie & Lukas at Toy Hill in 2005 and 2007. Wow.

Last Saturday Lukas & I spent a good part of the day at Toy Hill, the Little Rock Toys for Tots toy drive. I remember 10 or more years ago Ed made a small pot of deer chili, packed it up, and said he was taking it to the Marines that were working at Toy Hill. That became an every year tradition that got bigger & bigger each year. Last year he was to the point of having many friends and family members donating their time, a local food supplier donating ingredients, Charlie making the duck gumbo, and he's had his own tent for I don't know how many years. It could definitely be called a big "to do".

Ed was the kind of person that made sure his chili legacy would live on after he passed, so this year my brother Ricky was the chef. He did a fantastic job with the help of family and friends. We had an Ed tribute table and I popped popcorn with Ed's big popcorn machine. Lukas ran around with his cousins, Devon and Kolby. And I think we all got at least misty-eyed when the band played Garth Brooks' "The Dance".

I still can't believe he's gone.
