Mmmmmmm....... Margaritas

After 2 Ritas at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Reposados, in the
Colleyville area.

Battle of the GPS

Acura VS TomTom - Rich had a contest between our portable GPS and his
Dad's built-in today. The TomTom calculated the route faster, but
aside from that it's hard to say who the winner is. The car was
programmed for a direct route, while the TomTom used the fastest
route. Since Rich's Dad was driving we went with the car. And of
course, the car has a better speaking voice.

Happy Thanksgiving

Rich is thankful for this table nap he is enjoying after the wonderful
meal his Mom prepared for us.

Hope everyone had plenty to eat today!

Hey Moms - Let's Move to South Africa!

I was listening to the Jumping Monkeys podcast and heard about Triba. Their tag line is "Wellness in Motherhood", and it looks fabulous. You can drop your kid at their childcare center and use the sleep room, spa, library, hair stylist, and more while they play. Looks like a good enough reason to move to South Africa to me!

My Sweet Boy

Tonight Lukas did something so sweet... we were upstairs and I had the hiccups, which he pointed out. I told him I wanted something to drink (I was not asking him to get me something to drink). He took off to the stairs and as he was heading down he was saying something like "Daddy, drink [for] Mommy" over and over. A while later, he came up the stairs sloshing around a glass of old Coke. Daddy didn't get the message, so Lukas climbed the ladder to the counter and found my half empty glass of Coke from lunch, then climbed the stairs with it to bring me a drink. I took a drink of the hot, flat stuff and thanked him profusely, then he needed a drink. We took turns until we finished the swill, and it was so sweet.

Cuddle Gram

Lukas on his first day of "school"
I really tried to make this picture right, but something is wrong.

Lukas had his first day of "school" last Tuesday. He's going to our Church's Early Childhood Development Center two days a week. They play outside, eat lunch, nap, hold hands, go to chapel, make crafts, and lots of other stuff. He loves it! He runs away and hides when I pick him up - even on his first day. After I caught him on the first day he was yelling "noooo" and holding on to my face. Nice manners, eh? And every day we get this cute Cuddle Gram telling us about his day - isn't it sweet? It's hard to throw them away (I haven't).

Chickens For Sale

Today I'm in Clinton, Arkansas at the WalMart and in addition to the
usual "puppies for sale" we saw "Bantams for sale". I could have had
my very own pair of chickens for as little as $10. According to
Claude Ruiz, owner of The Barnyard, there are over 670 varieties of
Bantams and they make good pets. I think I'll pass for now even
though Lukas would love it. I remember my grandpa having them when I
was young and his layed blue & green eggs. If you are in need of your
own adorable Bantams, call The Barnyard at 501-745-7897 .

New Photo Page

I'm loving the new iLife program! It makes fab photo albums. So fab in fact that I'm going to change the way I do pictures on our site. There will be a central album page that shows all the albums. I'll put a link to it on the sidebar, somewhere up high, and you can also directly access it at http://www.thehaddocks.net/photos. I won't be taking the time to go back and redo all the old albums, so they are still available on the sidebar (in case you need a tiny baby Lukas fix).

Weekend at Nanna's

Lukas: A Self Portrait

Lukas spent the entire weekend with Nanna - hooray! Sunday afternoon the 3 of us went & had our pictures made at the fire station near Nanna's house. After that, we dropped him off with Grandma Susie for another fun night away from home. Guess he'll be home tonight.... sigh.

While he's away, I'm playing with a new program that came in the iLife bundle - iWeb. Although I don't plan to leave Blogger for it, I think I'll be able to make cuter photo album pages with it. I'm uploading the first album as I type this. It's all the pictures that Nanna & Lukas took over the weekend. I'm only including the above self portrait, although there were many - eyes, teeth, nose, etc. He keeps trying to look into the lens instead of the viewfinder.

Cross your fingers & *click here* to try and see the new album!

Sliding

We checked out a nifty little park on Fair Park by the zoo. Lukas
approves.

The New Playpen

My mother-in-law says that Rich was still playing in a playpen when he
was Lukas' age. This morning I needed a playpen, but the tub is a
great alternative since he never wants to get out.

Greatest Day Ever

This is me on the day I discovered the joys of mobile blogging :)

This is an iPhone self portrait. I think it captures my geekiness
pretty well, don't you?

Mobile Blogging

I have discovered mobile blogging. Seems to go hand in hand with the
iPhone. Should be fun!

Here's Lukas in the "peanuts" at Nanna's office.

DVDs at Mickey Ds?

Appears that McDonalds has something new on the dollar menu... DVD
rentals.

Happy Halloween

This year Lukas was a frog for Halloween. Nanna made him an orange candy bag and I used iron-on transfers to put flies on it (you know, frogs eat flies). The candy bag is also reversible to camo for Lukas' future carrying needs.

Lukas & I went to see Daddy at work, then Nanna at work, then changed into his skeleton shirt and went to the Playroom. Then we went to Nanna's, dressed up, trick-or-treated Nanna's friend, a nursing home, Katelyn, then headed for Ta Molly's for Mexican food.

Afterward we pigged out on candy at Nanna's. What a night.
