Our Little Pumpkin

Lukas wore the pumpkin shirt that Aunt Whitney bought him today. So cute, of course. He spent the night with Grandma & Grandpa Holt on Thursday night. We were going to take some group shots of the 3 grandsons, but it's hard to coordinate baby napping and fussing. We'll try again soon. Lukas and I went to Nanna's after I picked him up. We got some shots of him in Nanna's back yard, in Nanna's kitchen cabinets, and then a few bathtime shots. Click here to see all the pictures.

Lukas' other front tooth is making it's move. He's going through the cranky stage again. The picture where it looks like he's sucking his thumb is actually him chewing on his fingers. Somebody give the boy a teether already. We finally did. He's starting to move his feet in a nice walking pattern when you hold him up. He's getting ready.

I'm in love with some new shoes I bought him. They are Robeez knock-offs from Target (and a pair from Gymboree). I thought these were the ugliest shoes ever, but they are growing on me now. Especially since they will go on AND stay on my little man's feet. They are not big & clunky like some of our other shoes and they don't interfere with crawling. They help him stay balanced when he's standing up because the soles are soft & flexible (like a suede). They wouldn't be great for jogging or hiking, but they are perfect for hardwood floors and concrete. He balanced himself for a quite a while the other day on the sidewalk across the street. I'm so proud.

Stay tuned because the next big news will either be New Tooth or Walking! My guess is new tooth x 5 before walking.

Now you see it, now you don't.

First Haircut - by Mommy - September 26th, 2006

You can see the curls that were behind his ears are starting to straighten and fall over his ears...

Now you can see that Mommy took the kitchen scissors and snipped those little dudes right off! Painless.

And yes, I saved the curls.

The Bag Maker

My Mom has become the bag & purse maker these days. She made Lukas & me a groovy & giant diaper bag, but it's so big that it's more like a tote. I'll post a picture of it later. She wanted me to put some purse pictures up so Brenda could take a look.

A Tooth

A tooth has finally arrived in Lukas' mouth. It is not much fun, this tooth. It makes my baby cranky, fussy, drooly and snotty. I tried to get a good picture of his new arrival, it turned out okay. Now I'm dreading all the other toothy friends that will be showing up soon. He's going to look like a different baby when he gets a bunch of teeth.

And no, the cats didn't scratch up the lad's face - it was his own doing. He really hates to have his nails cut.

Aunt Ginger & Uncle Allen

Lukas & the Sunscreen Do

We drove to Dallas Thursday night so we could be at Grandma & Grandpa Haddock's to visit with Aunt Ginger & Uncle Allen. They had been in Portland, OR for a wedding and were on their way back home to Guam. We picked them up from the airport on Friday around noon. They hadn't seen Lukas in 9 months. He's changed a lot since then! They took him swimming while I took pictures. Allen's parents drove down from Oklahoma to visit with them too. We all went out to my new favorite place to eat in Colleyville - Reposados - it's a tasty Mexican restaurant. We had gone there on my birthday too. Ginger & Allen had to leave the house Saturday morning at 8am. It was a short visit, but I'm glad we got to see them.
