The Wonder Place

Saturday Nanna & I took Lukas to a new kid's place, The Wonder Place. It had a nice play area for kids under 2. He had a great time, especially with the infant water table. It was a shallow sink in a countertop with 2 seats in it for babies. He got soaked. I didn't get many pictures because my camera batteries were dying. Wish I had a video of it. They also had a neat system of clear tubing hooked up to a high-powered blower where you could stick things like scarves and foam balls in and watch them go through the maze of tubing. Then, they shot out at you from different locations. Lukas was intrigued. The place is for all kids under 8, and it's really neat. The admission said $7, which I figured would be per person, but they only charged us for Lukas. It was definitely worth 7 bucks. I saw lots of Daddies & kiddies - how sweet. Fun in the Texas Sun

We've just returned from visiting Grandma & Grandpa Haddock in hot, hot Texas. Ken & Jessica joined us and we had a great time. We took a mini-trip to Ikea in Frisco, TX. Wow - that place is huge. They had displays set up for what it's like to live in really tiny spaces. I think the smallest was 237 square feet, which looked like a fancy dorm room. They squeezed in lots of storage space though. I tried Swedish Meatballs and they were quite yummy. Lukas stayed home with Grandma & Grandpa so he could go swimming. We got him a very cute Ikea dragon toy. All the pictures (not many actually) are in the Photo Album now.

New Stuff

I wanted to make sure everyone has seen my recent additions to the sidebar - "Photo Albums", which has some of our newest snapshots, and in the "Home Movies" section there is a new video of our 2nd swimming lesson with Lukas.

The Bookplate Has Arrived

Lukas' custom designed bookplate has finally arrived. It is so cute & wonderful. I can't wait to print them and afix them to all his books. They were drawn by Julie R. Neidlinger and you can see the bookplate and her blog entry about it here. She blurred out his name on her blog, but it says "Lukas" on the top book and "Oliver Haddock" on the bottom book. She put a lot of thought into the design and I love it. I can't wait to tell Lukas the story of his very own bookplate.

Thank you Julie!

Snakes On A Beach Ball At A Luau

Rich & I were invited to a wonderful house party / luau Friday night. It was hosted by JJ & her college pal, Anna. In a strange coincidence, there was a snake, on a beach ball, with a lei, at the luau on the very night that I received a call from Samuel L. Jackson telling me to get a babysitter and go see Snakes on a Plane. Weird. You can send or receive your very own call from Sam by going to the SOAP web site. The funny thing was that it said the call was from Ken, but when Sam started talking, I thought it was Chet doing a Sam impersonation from Ken's phone. That makes no sense at all, but that's what I thought.

After more than the 30 posts I said I would make before I paid for hosting, I have finally shelled out the dough. I goofed the order up and had to call GoDaddy's customer service and they are very nice. Except, I still have ads. I'll call back tomorrow if they aren't gone.

Bad Blogger / 80s Kitty

I'm embarrassed at the lack of blogging I'm doing. Guess there's nothing interesting going on. Just work & baby stuff. Lukas is big and getting around quite well. He's still not up on his hands & knees, but he's fast. Now he can sit up by himself from the belly position. He can also pull up in the crib and stand up to suck on the rail. He'll be walking and talking before we know it.

More fun than Lukas this week, is China - my Eighties Kitty. She got a new haircut that includes kitty leg warmers. Check her out...
